Michael Geraghty (“Mickey G”) is a technology entrepreneur, designer and activist. Mickey G has built companies in multiple countries and is a consultant, advisor and mentor to entrepreneurs. He holds U.S. and Irish citizenship. Mickey G is the co-founder and chief designer of a stealth, fin-tech startup focussed on climate change; chief creative consultant to Nutramara. He was also the founder, CEO and chief product architect of Sohalo, an enterprise loyalty-marketing platform; co-founder of Tickettruck, a social travel reservation service on the Facebook platform, co-founder of Travelonmy, an early version of Airbnb in Europe and Chief Technology Officer of Labyrinth, an eCommerce software company.
Mickey G was awarded a technology patent in 2016 for his design of a behavioural reward system software method using social networks. Earlier in his career, Mickey G was co-founder of the company that completed the first e-commerce and loyalty transactions on the Facebook platform (Tickettruck, 2007). His company Sohalo, was the first western company to integrate new technology services into the Japanese Waon electonic money system in Japan (Sohalo, 2014) which was part of a solution to one of the largest retailers in Japan (Aeon).
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mickey G had ambitions of becoming a scientist from an early age. He was accepted into the University of Iowa department of Biochemistry to pursue a scientific research in Genetics. However, two years into his studies, he transferred to the University of Missouri St. Louis, where he was awarded a Bachelors degree in Political Science (Hons). He then moved to London and completed a Masters of Science in Economics and Politics at the London School of Economics (LSE). After the LSE he moved to Brussels to pursue an entrepreneurial career in technology.
In addition to his primary business pursuits, Mickey G is involved in other projects. He’s a co-producer of Portuguese wines using a unique vinification method dating back to the Roman period in a UNESCO Heritage wine region of Portugal. He’s also the publisher of a digital lifestyle blog, an abstract expression painter and published photographer.
Mickey G’s mission is to reduce carbon emissions by using scalable technologies.
